1968 wines

Are you looking for a present that is rather special? Or that will commemorate 41 years?

If you have a friend's, partner's or relation's 41st birthday coming up, or a ruby wedding in the family in a few weeks' time, you may be hunting for something a little different from the usual champagne, chocolates or china ...

1968 vintage wine may be the perfect answer to the "what shall I give?" dilemma in 2009. It is a gift that is memorable and very special. Check out our Rivesaltes from 1968 too - in mint condition and tremendous value!

1968 wines: France

Château Rombeau (Rivesaltes) 1968 (75cl) Château Rombeau (Rivesaltes) 1968 (75cl)

Rivasaltes (dessert white)

Condition: Pristine - recently bottled with individually numbered bottles.

Note: Always the safest bet, vintage dessert wines make great gifts. Their higher sugar content makes them longer-lived and easier to store than their drier counterparts, usually making them more expensive. This wine is guaranteed to please and at this price, is a steal. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

1968 Italian Wines

Barolo, Giacomo Borgogno & Figli D.O.C. 1968 (72cl) Barolo, Giacomo Borgogno & Figli D.O.C. 1968 (72cl)

Condition: Great levels and labels. We have recently acquired this parcel at a fabulous price - hence our huge price reduction (was £95).

TASTING NOTE, 20th Oct. '08:
Slightly amber colour. Amazingly fresh and dry with rich, red fruits and a wonderful soft, warm depth and lingering, silky finish with hints of toasted hazelnuts and almonds. Virtually no tannins, just a crisp strawberry-like acidity. A fair amount of sediment, so best left to stand for 24 hours before serving.
This is a great Barolo, from a well-know and respected producer, which comes VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
