Château Hortevie 1969 (37.5cl HALF-BOTTLE)Château Hortevie 1969 (37.5cl HALF-BOTTLE)

Saint Julien Cru Bourgeois HALF-BOTTLE

Condition: Top Shoulder with immaculate labels.

Tasting Note from 25th March 2009:
Light in colour with some sediment (as you would expect from a wine of this age). A great nose of sweet cherries and raspberries is followed by fresh, dry raspberries on the palate, light tannins and a really juicy (clean) finish. For a 1969, this is an astounding result and would be a delight for a lover of vintage claret.

1969 wines: Germany (white)
S A Prüm Wehlener Sonnenuhr Auslese 1969 (75cl)S A Prüm Wehlener Sonnenuhr Auslese 1969 (75cl)

Condition: Great levels and labels for this amazing wine.

Note: Auslese (literal meaning 'selected harvest') is the German term for a late harvest wine and is a riper category than Spätlese . The grapes are picked from selected very ripe bunches in the autumn (late November-early December), and have to be hand picked. Generally Auslese wine can be made in only the best harvest years that have been sufficiently warm. Rheingau winemaker Schloss Johannisberg is generally credited with discovering Auslese wine in 1787.

Auslesen are sometimes considered a German dessert wine, especially the wines made from botrytises bunches, though it is not as sweet as Eiswein, Beerenauslese (BA), or Trockenbeerenauslese (TBA) dessert wines.
