| Château Saint Bonnet 1983 (75cl) AOC Medoc, Cru Bourgeois
Condition: Good levels (top shoulder or better) and nice clean labels.
Tasting Note (8th Feb '08). Shockingly good. Brick red. Typical earthy nose, which opens beautifully into rosehip and liquorice notes. On the pallet, there is plenty of soft fruit and perfectly balanced tannins, with a surprising freshness. A delicate and deliciously dry food claret, which does not need to be decanted. Don't be shy with the corkscrew - these are long corks (which may be slightly soft after 25 years of good cellaring).

| Château Payreau 1983 (75cl) AOC Saint Emilion Grand Cru Controlée
Condition: Pristine.
Tasting Note: Typical bordeaux black fruit nose and a great brick-red colour. On the palate, much richer and fuller than expected with hints of eucalyptus, liquorice and coffee. On the whole this is an amazing, elegant wine with a finish that goes on forever - Saint Emilion at its absolute best.

| Mouton Rothchild 1983 (75cl) Pauillac, Premier Cru Classé (First Growth)
Condition: Excellent, high fill with clean labels.
R Parker 90 Points: "The classic Mouton lead-pencil, cedary nose has begun to emerge. This medium dark ruby, elegant, medium-bodied wine will never be a great or legendary Mouton. The flavors are ripe and moderately rich. With good depth and some firm tannins to resolve, this offering from Mouton is bigger and richer than the 1981, 1979, or 1978. Austere by the standards of Mouton and the vintage, the 1983 resembles the chateau's fine 1966. Anticipated maturity: Now-2015." (Bordeaux Book, 3rd Edition, Jan 1998)
