Montalcino is a hilltown in Tuscany famous for its 'Brunello di Montalcino'. Rosso di Montalcino, is the other main DOC from Montalcino. It is 100% Brunello grape (a clone of Sangiovese) grown in a strictly delimited zone within the area of Montalcino and is capable of long aging. Very good value compared to Brunellos of a similar age, which fetch well over £100.
