| NINQUEN Antu Ninquén Cabernet Carmenère, MontGras 2009 Grape Varieties: 70% Cabernet Sauvignon 30% Carmenere
Food Matching Note: An excellent partner for red meat, pasta, roasted vegetables or white meat with a rich sauce. Perfect with sticky barbecue ribs or pan fried venison steaks.
Tasting Note: Deliciously ripe fruit dominates the nose, supported with spicy vanilla notes. The palate is full and concentrated but rounded and easily approachable, offering dense blackcurrant fruit, smoky oak flavours and fine grained tannin on the finish.
Vinification Note: Ninquén (nin-ken) means plateau on a mountain, the name given to this first and unique Mountain Estate in Chile. Antu means "Son of" and is the name given to this exciting mono-varietal range of new wines which offer the pure expression of the grape coupled with the terroir of the Ninquén estate. The fruit is carefully selected and handpicked exclusively from the Ninquén Mountain, located in the heart of the Colchagua Valley before an extended maceration period during fermentation and aging in barrique.
