| CARMEL WINERY Carmel Ridge Red 2009 Carmel Winery was established in 1882 by Baron Edmond de Rothschild of Château Lafite fame, and is one of the oldest companies in Israel. Sourcing grapes from over 300 vineyards throughout the country, many in cool climate high altitude sites such as the Upper Galilee and Judean Hills, Carmel has become a byword for quality and consistency. From the highly acclaimed Carmel Limited Edition, the companys flagship wine, and the stylish Single Vineyard series of wines, to the Carmel Ridge range, the companys team of internationally trained winemakers has amply demonstrated Israels tremendous potential as a quality wine producer. Vinification Note: The winemaking philosophy behind Carmel Ridge wines is to craft fruit forward, easy drinking, value for money wines for drinking young. The wines all come from the southern Mount Carmel region, close to Carmel's Zichron Ya'acov Cellars overlooking the Mediterranean Sea between Tel Aviv and Haifa.
