Château d'Issan 3ème Cru Classé, Margaux 2007
Grape Varieties
55% Cabernet Sauvignon
35% Merlot
5% Petit Verdot
5% Cabernet Franc

Food Matching Note:
Spicy beef shanks with julienne carrots, provencal lamb with Mediterranean vegetables or hard cheeses are most suitable pairings.

Tasting Note:
Currently extremely youthful with a dark ruby/purple colour, as well as a sweet nose of cassis and spring flowers. Although this wine will never be muscular or exceptionally concentrated, it overdelivers with a stylish, elegant, and well crafted harmony among its structural components.

Vinification Note:
This 32 hectare property is situated on the ancient road between Cantenac and Margaux itself. The lovely chateau is surrounded by and old stone wall, which contains soil unique in Margaux and as a result the wines are atypical for the appellation, being more tannic and full bodied than usual.
The grapes are all hand picked and then carefully sorted before crushing. A very strict selection is made before blending and the wine is traditionally aged in oak barrels before bottling.
