Tasting Note: Exhibits the classic characteristics of a fine 1er Cru single vineyard Morey - red berry and plummy fruit, good acidity and structure and a wonderfull minerality that lasts well into the rounded, firm finish. Vinification Note: Found at the north end of the Cote d' Or the vineyards are sheltered by the surrounding hills. The vines are planted on a narrow marlstone outcrop, overlaid with silt and scree. Overshadowed by its 5 Grand cru vineyards, Morey St Denis still produces powerful wines with weight and muscle. The Domaine Hubert Lignier is based around the village of Morey St. Denis. The Domaine consists of 8 ha divided as follows: 2 ha Morey St. Denis; ½ ha Chambolle Musigny; 1 ha Gevrey Chambertin; 2 ha Bourgogne Rouge and assorted 2 ½ ha of 1er and Grand Cru vineyards. 85% of the production is exported to over 20 countries.
