Peter Lehmann Wines
We are delighted to be able to offer you a fabulous selection of wines from this popular Australian producer. With the Stonewell Shiraz (Fine Wines section) described as being "in the same league as Penfolds Grange" (but around a quarter of the price), not only do they represent superb quality, but also great value. Without exception, customers who choose them also become fans.
The GSM (Reds section) is a tribute to the early pioneering families who settled in the Barossa after 1842. In 1840, William Jacob, Assistant Surveyor to the Colony of South Australia, carried out "The Seven Special Surveys" to establish the boundaries of what we now know as the Barossa. The wine has a lifted perfumed nose, sweet berry on the palate and beautifully balanced by the oak, good acid, fine tannins and a firm finish. It is perfect with Mediterranean style dishes and is a great partner for roast lamb.
Packed with blackberry, mulberry, plum, and spicy characters, the Barossa Shiraz (Reds Section) is, along with the Seven Surveys, our best selling red by far. It is rich and full-bodied with intense flavour but soft and mellow on the palate.
Far from most typical chardonnays, the Weighbridge Chardonnay (Whites section) is more akin to a Sauvignon Blanc with vibrant fresh melon fruit on the nose, a softly textured palate with honey dew melon and peach characters and a crisp fruit finish.
