Condition: Level almost undelievable for its age. Label shows signs of cellaring, otherwise in excellent condition.

Note: We had the good fortune to taste one of these great dessert wines and cannot recommend it too highly. Sweet, unctuous and intoxicating, it conjures up images of toffee apples and creamy, rich fudge with a finish that goes on for ever. If ever a wine showed pedigree and breeding, this is it - not surprisng really since this was the preferred drink of Russian Tzars and dates back to the 16th century.

Condition: Great level and label (see photo). The ultimate gift.

Presented in its original wooden cage with separate wax sealed label, this is a rare find indeed. At six Puttonyos, it is also amongst the best and most sought after. Tokaji like this just gets better and better with age (we were lucky enough to try a 1901 Tokaji and it was unbelievably rich and toffee-like). Originally the drink of Prussian Tsars, bottles have been unearthed from the 17th century (and were still found to be drinkable!).
