| YERING Yarrabank Cuvée Brut, Yering Station 2005 Grape Varieties 52.6% Chardonnay 47.4% Pinot Noir
Awards and Press: 95 points - 2005 Yarrabank Cuvee - James Halliday 2011 Very pale straw-green, with fine and persistent mousse; a blend of Pinot Noir/ Chardonnay that does not undergo MLF and has four years on lees; there is a strong case for another period on lees, and I look forward to a late disgorged version in due course.
Food Matching Note: Drinks very well as a glass by itself, or as an opulent partner to shellfish, smoked salmon or fruit based dishes such as chilled strawberries.
Tasting Note: Pale straw, with a persistent fine bead forming a delicate crown and a fine, elegant bouquet with almond, pear and croissant aromas. The palate is elegant with harmonious nutty yeast and fruit complexities. There is a biscuity, zesty and almondy palate with a rich creamy mouthfeel and complex autolysis characters in the middle palate and a crisp finish and lingering after-taste. The finish is wonderfully long and intense.
