PICCO DEL SOLE Cannonau di Sardegna, Picco del Sole 2008
Grape Varieties
100% Cannonau

Food Matching Note:
Great with red meats and hard, aged cheeses.

Tasting Note:
A typical Sardinian red with a deep ruby colour and a palate brimming with ripe fruit and hints of sweet spice. Good acidity, soft tannins and a well-balanced, persistent finish.

Grape:
Cannonau is the Sardinian name for Garnacha / Grenache.

Location:
Rugged Sardinia was once part of Aragon, and the wines have an echo of Spain.

Flavour:
Medium-bodied with concentrated fruit.

USP:
Round and modern, with some of the character of the rugged and remote island of Sardinia.

Combined:
A solid introduction to Cannonau (the Sardinian clone of Grenache), this wine is medium bodied but packed with flavour and ready for some meaty food.

Vinification Note:
The wine is traditionally vinified at a controlled temperature of between 25 and 27ºC. The wine is harvested in October and cellared for 4 years.
