About
Home to the great wine names of Burgundy, the Cotes de Beaune is located in the southern part of the Cote d'Or between Nuits Saint Georges and Beaune. This 1945 vintage Burgundy carries simply the 'Appellation' or name of the wine, with no individual producer's details shown. This was not uncommon at this time when negociants often wanted to hide the producer's name so that the client couldn't go to the chateau or domaine direct. It is neither a good or bad indication of the wine's quality.
Harrisons Fine Wines is our sister company, specialising in these and other vintage and fine wines. Wines like this are sourced from private cellars all over Europe and are stored at Harrisons in temperature and humidity controlled cabinets (fridges) and in their below-ground cellars.
Our Views
The greatest red wines in the world come from Burgundy, usually with price tags to match. One of the most amazing wines the team here were lucky enough to try was a 1964 Corton - it was sublime. This 1945 vintage Cotes de Beaune seems good value given its age and would make a great gift.
