New Zealand

New Zealand has some 10 main wine growing regions across the latitudes from 36 to 45 degrees South, about 1000 miles. The result is a fabulous array of quality wines focusing  on the Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir, but it also produces fabulous Chardonnays, Rieslings, Cabernets and Merlots to name a few. It all began about 1836, with the oldest vineyard now at Mission Estate, Hawkes Bay. The producers have gone for quality and consistency hence their sales growth continues to be very much upwards.
