Pauillac

The region and appellation of Pauillac is named after the small village of the same name on the Médoc peninsula of Bordeaux. It is home to some of the world’s most famous and expensive wines, such as Château Latour, Château Lafite and Château Mouton Rothschild. The AOC (Appellation d’Origine Controllée) is for red wine produced mainly from Cabernet Sauvignon and it covers only nine square miles. The wines are distinctive full, rich, with that cassis, cedarwood aroma that comes from careful cask aging. They are classics in their own right.
