Médoc
The Médoc is probably one of the World’s most famous wine areas. Situated on a peninsula, that stretches 50 miles north from Bordeaux, its gravelly, silty soils and maritime climate combine to offer perfect growing conditions for Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot to make the finest of reds. Full-bodied, high in tannins, low in acidity. It contains the sub AOC’s of Pauillac, Margaux, St Estèphe, and St Julien and some the world’s finest Châteaux such as Lafite, Mouton, Latour and Palmer to name a few.
