Tasting Notes
Domaine Carneros is made from vines grown in the famous Napa Valley where the conditions are ideal. The cuvee is approximately 59% Pinot Noir and 41% Chardonnay. Produced using the Methode Tradionelle and aged in bottle, the wines have a delicate fine mousse and that classic toast bouquet. The style is dry with a low doseage and the wine is full of lime and honeyed flavours with a brilliant lasting finish. A clean very refreshing wine with plenty of character that comes highly recommended.
About
Domaine Carneros was founded in 1987 after an extensive search by the Taittinger Champagne family to set up a California Chateau to produce high quality sparkling wines under their supervision. Since then it has produced some stunning wines and followed the rules of Methode Tradionelle to ensure the very best . Using the same grape varieties, methods of production and aging techniques as their champagne house in Reims, they quickly established their name.
Consistently excellent, it compares very favourably to Taittinger Champagne and indeed, has enjoyed considerable success with wine critics and the various wine/champagne competitions, even sometimes surpassing Taittinger with higher scores from the critics.Ideal with...
Sparkling wines of this quality have the ability to go with almost anything .They are superb on their own, great with canapes, sea foods, oysters in particular. They also work with lightly spiced dishes and cheese in particular. Serve chilled and just enjoy.
