There's an aroma much like the end of your coffee cup (if you take sugar) which also has a pleasant smoky quality to it. The palate is more of the same with some bitterness at the end.
This navy rum is produced from rums made in a couple of islands in the Caribbean. It is named for an Admiral who served in the Royal Navy from 1678 until his death in 1702 from a wound to his leg which he suffered in the West Indies under French fire.
