A light greeny gold tinge to the colour that leads you into a nose of ripe stone fruits especially yellow plums and nectarine. In the mouth there is buttery green apple flavour plus hints of vanilla and mocha. A crunchy acidity delivers freshness while the subtle soft fruit flavours linger.
Septima Obra Chardonnay is made from selected vineyards in the Vistaflores Septima Estate in the Valle de Uco district. Hand-picked in February at night to ensure the grapes stay cool, the juice is fermented in oak casks in temperature controlled cellars. It is crucial to extract the Chardonnay qualities/ flavours and the early picking also ensures a crunchy acidity. Only about 24,000 bottles are produced so the emphasis is very much on top quality - another medal winner from Bodega Septima.
This lovely wine goes well with fish, white meats and pasta. It is also excellent on its own to appreciate all the complex flavours and little nuances. Delicious served slightly chilled to enjoy at its best.
