Superb with levels at the base of the neck and good clean labels.
Pauillac is a lovely little village in the Medoc. It is also the 'Appellation' of the wines produced from here - the Appellation is like a kite mark, awarded to areas that have been recognised by the French government as producers of high quality produce and Pauillac is home to some of the world's greatest wines such as Chateau Lafite Rothschild and Chateau Latour.
Chateau Batailley is one of our favourite wines. It always offers good value for money and delivers extremely well-balanced fruit, tannin and ageing potential. As well as being a classified growth Bordeaux, it was knighted by Napoleon III, giving it Grand Cru status.
This is an example of a great wine in top condition from a difficult vintage. If you are looking for a 1977 vintage Bordeaux, look no further.
