In great condition with high levels and good clean labels. Signs of sediment (not unusual for wines of this age), so this wine will need to be left for 48 hours to allow it to settle and opened and poured very carefully (or decanted).
Increasingly rare, Barolos that pre-date 1970 were made to be cellared for long periods. In the 1970's and 80's, a change took place in Piedmont when Barolo producers changed the style of Barolo, making fruiter, less tannic wines that could be drunk younger. This change in the wine makes the predecessors even more important as they cannot easily be replaced with their modern counterparts.
For connoisseurs Barolo is Italy's most collected wine.
Terre del Barolo is one of a number of vintage Barolo Riservas that we are proud to be able to offer. They are fragments of history and anyone fortunate enough to own one can count themselves one of a privileged few.
